Real Love is always active.
Deuteronomy 11:1 Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always.”
Listen to that word… “Therefore”. Here in Malaysia, we often hear people ask, “What for? What for must obey? What for need to do this and that”? Sometimes we like to question everything. That is exactly why the word “therefore” is so important. God knows there will always be people who ask, “What for?” So, He gives us the reason first and then He says, “Therefore…” Now respond to what I have already done for you.
It is God saying, “Because I delivered you, because I fed you, because I fought for you, because I protected you, because I brought you this far, therefore love Me.” God lays it out for us clearly, His charge, His statutes, His judgments, His commandments.
Why so detailed? Because God wants all of us, our decisions, our relationships, our work, our attitude, and our character. And then He adds this important word: “Always”. Not only when it is easy. Not only when life feels good. Not only when our prayers get answered quickly. BUT Always. Because real love shows up consistently. Real love is proven in habits, not just hallelujahs. Anyone can praise God in the palace, but do you still obey Him in the wilderness? Love God loud. Obey God daily. Trust God fully.
Are there areas of your life, your decisions, your relationships, your work, or your attitude, where you struggle to obey God consistently? Take a moment to reflect. Be honest with yourself.
God knows every part of your life, and He invites you to bring it to Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your patience and Your love that never fails. I confess that there are areas in my life where I struggle to obey You consistently, my decisions, my relationships, my work, and even my attitude. Lord, forgive me for the times I have failed to honour You. Father, strengthen me to obey You in every part of my life. Help me to love You actively, not just in words, but in actions, thoughts, and choices. Guide me to follow Your ways even when it is difficult, and give me the courage to live a life that reflects Your heart. I pray that Your Spirit will remind me daily to align my life with Your Word, and that I will honour You in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
