Holy Spirit Dwells In An Obedient Person.
1 John 3: 24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
Obedience is important in our relationship with God. Our obedience is like an invitation for God to dwell in us. The Holy Spirit comes and begins a work in us. Some of us have maids who help to clean our houses. When they come, they will sweep, mop and arrange back the furniture. In the same way, there is so much of mess in our life. The Holy Spirit will come to cleanse and purify us so that we can have the righteousness of Jesus. But the problem is that there are some who obey and disobey constantly. It is like we invite and then we expel and after some time invite again. We don’t get a proper cleaning services done for our houses if we practice inconsistent invitation and expelling. So, we need to make it a life long commitment to be obedient and ask God to help overcome disobedience. When we become obedient consistently, then the Holy Spirit not only will clean us but will also build us to have a stronger character and perseverance.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to be obedient and not allow life situation to control me and cause me to compromise. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
Philippians 2: 12 – 13 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
