Confessing That God Came In The Flesh.

1 John 4: 2 – 3 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

We believe that God exist as a Spirit being and we are humans dwelling in the flesh. We also believe that Jesus, who is God came down from heaven and put upon Himself human flesh. There has been a contention between some individuals and the early church and that contention still exist today. The contention is whether Jesus being God came down to become human being. Many kinds of ideas and theories have been introduced by some individuals and they were able to deceive some and draw them away from the church. After that they would start their own group and use the terms such as The Church, True Jesus, New Heaven New Earth and many other biblical names to promote themselves. We need to be aware of this deception. The confession that Jesus has come in the flesh is very powerful. It should not just be mouth-confession alone but it must come from a deep conviction of faith. If it is from a deep confession of faith, our whole lifestyle will revolve around Jesus as the centre. We live our life reflecting the truth of Jesus as we are transformed into His image from glory to glory. Whereas the deceiver will revolve around materialism, angel worship, involvement in carnal sexual sins and they will encourage isolation and social separation by severing ties from family and friends. Do not fall into the trap of the deceiver. Check your life and allow Jesus to be the centre.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to live my life with Jesus being the centre and learn to be a testimony to the people around me. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

Colossians 2: 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
