Deborah’s Song of Praise: Proclaim the Praises of God.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Proclaiming is part of praising God. The enemy understands something many believers have not yet understood: there is power in your voice. That is why he wants you to remain silent about what God has done. Do not keep quiet about the goodness of God. Speak of His faithfulness. Speak of His mercy. Speak of His power. Speak of His miracles. Let the walls of your house hear that Jesus is Lord. Let your challenges hear how great your God is. Let your children hear that God is faithful. Let your neighbourhood hear that God answers prayer. Let the atmosphere around you hear that God is still on the throne. The atmosphere around you responds to what you speak.

Before there is a manifestation of God’s power, there is proclamation. Look at Deborah. After God gave Israel victory, she did not remain silent. Judges 5:3 (NKJV) “Hear, O kings! Give ear, O princes! I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.”

Who were the kings and princes? Deborah was calling on the rulers of the earth to listen to her praises to the Lord. These could have been the kings and princes of nations surrounding Israel. Spiritually, her proclamation also announced to every power of darkness that the God of Israel reigns. Deborah was inviting the highest authorities on earth to hear about the highest Authority in heaven. She was not glorifying Israel’s strength. She was exalting the Lord. Like Deborah, we must stand on our spiritual platform and proclaim the praises of our God. Our praise cannot remain locked inside our hearts. It must be released into the atmosphere. When we proclaim God’s goodness, we glorify Him. We strengthen our faith. We encourage others. We remind the powers of darkness that our God reigns. Proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light!

Proclaim It into the Spiritual Atmosphere:

But I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that I may proclaim the praises of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light. Let the spiritual atmosphere hear that Jesus is Lord. The Lord has called me, redeemed me, and brought me into His marvelous light. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
