God Takes Note of Your Child And so Does the Devil
Numbers 3:14–15 Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, saying: “Number the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families; you shall number every male from a month old and above.”
Baby dedication is a beautiful and important act before the Lord. When parents dedicate their child, they commit themselves to bringing the child to church and to children’s ministry every week. This dedication is significant not only because God takes it seriously, but also because the enemy notices. God instructed Moses to count all the Levites by family groups, starting with every male baby from one month old. Even babies were counted in the house of Levi because the Levites were entirely dedicated to God.
The ministry of a person begins in the mother’s womb. As the Bible says: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)
This shows that God’s calling and purpose for each life began long before birth, and dedicating children is an acknowledgment of that plan. Satan knows this as well.
The devil does not care about the age of a person; his only goal is to destroy destinies and callings, whether young or old. In the book of Esther, we read that Haman plotted to kill all the Jews in one day: “And the letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their possessions.” (Esther 3:13)
Notice how the words “little children” are specifically mentioned. The Jews were God’s people, and today we Christians are God’s people too. Haman scheduled the destruction of the Jews in a single day; on the date he chose. In the same way, the devil wastes no time.
Just one day is enough for the devil to strike. A child can be led into drugs, snatched by predators, or taught words that corrupt the heart. In a single day pornography can pollute the mind, social media can drive a child into depression, and wrong friendships can pull them far from God. One day is all it takes for bullying to scar a soul or for a choice to redirect a destiny. That is why we must stand in the gap. Parents and believers must intercede, protect, and train their children in the ways of God.
Children’s church is not a program, it is warfare. It is not only about teaching stories, but about dedicating young lives to God and preparing them to face the Goliaths that rise against them. A child who is trained in God’s Word will not be easily stolen by the enemy. Children’s ministry at home and in the church is a divine mandate and it is God’s strategy for raising warriors who will fulfil their calling. Children’s ministry is ordained by God Himself.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
