THE POWER OF OUR WORDS
James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. (NIV)
We all make mistakes and our speech often reflects the condition of our hearts. If we can control our tongue, we show discipline that impacts every part of life. Words can heal or harm, build or break, guide or mislead. That’s why God calls us to speak with wisdom, gentleness and love. Perfection may fall out of reach, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we learn to pause, think, and speak in away that honours Christ. Each day, let’s surrender our hearts and our words to Him, so that what we say carries grace and truth. In practice, this means pausing before we speak, asking ourselves “Will my words uplift or discourage? Do they reflect Christ’s love?”. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our speech, our words become tools for healing, encouragement, and blessing.
Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. (NIV)
